The Ole Fashion Way

I'm sorry to tell you but we're going to have to do things the old fashioned way. My mission Pres has banned email for however long he seems fit because some missionaries were abusing the privilege! It will be so hard not getting your emails each week but I guess it's just another thing the Lord wants us to experience no? Lets be positive about this shall we? haha who doesn't love a sweet hand written letter?! It'll all be ok mom, and denee...haha no worries. I wrote alot of people today so most of you should be receiving a letter within a few weeks, but this will be my last email for awhile I'm not sure when we'll get it back probably not until the new Pres comes which is the end of June. This week was a definite roller coaster of emotions and trials but it was incredible I learned so much. We had to move the bap date for 2 of our investigators so that was really sad but its ok their still working towards their goal so I'm not worried! We have zone conference on wed in Bacolod so I'm excited for that it will be the last one with Pres D. it should be really good. Thank you all for your emails I love reading about everything going on there! I love you all so much and I'm truly grateful for all the support and prayers you give me! I need them!! Everything is going great, of course its hard but we all knew that right? ;) I'm happier than ever and the Lord blesses me everyday. I can't even attempt to write all the things I'm learning and feeling, I'm so grateful for this opportunity to be here the Philippines is an incredible place and the people are even more wonderful. I love you all and miss you so much. I pray for you all everyday. Start writing and send em quick thats a big ocean for those puppies to cross :)

Love Always

Be happy, Be strong, Bring em' Home :)‏

Well It was absolutely wonderful to talk to you all this morning! more than words can say. I love you all so much! Dad don't worry I got my Mosquito net out as soon as I got off the phone with you. So everything is going great here in the Pines, I had my first convert baptism on sat!! A husband and a wife the Natinga family I wrote about before, It was great as all baptisms are and we have 4 more planned for this month so the work is really good! It stopped raining for a few days and we were back to sweating like pigs during the day. We lost electricity on Thursday, all night. I thought I was going to die laying there in bed without the fan it was so hotttt!! haha This week we have our zone meeting tomorrow in Bacolod so that should be fun, its always great seeing the other missionaries and it will be interesting to see who's in our zone now after the transfers. Thanks for all the emails, Its always so good to hear how great everyone is doing. Keep em' comin! Happy Mothers Day to all of you. Especially my "other" mothers ahah Deb, Cindi, Sheri, Beth hah all of you ;) Hope everyone has a fantastic week! Denee you can add some of the things I talked about on the phone if you like. The answer to every ones questions is BUCKET. I shower, wash my clothes flush the toilet and basically do everything out of big buckets...haha gotta love the pines. Love you to pieces!! I pray for you all daily.

Love always,
Brooklyn

Ok a couple things to add from our conversation with Brooklyn yesterday:

We asked her about the food over there and if she's eating ok or if she has come across some pretty gruesome stuff. She said one time at a families home they brought out goat for them to eat but it still had all the head and everything and patches of burnt hair still on it. Poor Brooklyn, we all about died for her just hearing that. She said her companion doesn't eat meat just fish and all the members know that so it pretty much saves her from having to eat weird meat, BUT she has now realized she's allergic to fish. She never ate fish before her mission so she had no idea but now after feeling nauseous and having her throat start to itch and get irritated she realized she's allergic. So for the most part she said she eats a lot of rice, vegetables, and fruit. She said her favorites are the mango and jack fruit.

She also told us her transfers are June 12 so we'll see if she gets to stay in her first area a little longer or if she'll be moved to another town.

Mothers Day, Mud, and Mahal (love)

Hey there!!! Thanks for the emails everyone :) Happy Birthday to Colton and Becky on the 30th I'm sorry if I forget birthdays I'm horrible at remembering them so bear with me people haha This week was such a good one it was a wet one but it was good. On sat we got stuck in a really bad storm and we were out in the middle of nowhere!! haha The wind was so strong I literally had my little companion and one of the ward missionaries under my arms like a CHICKEN MAMA so they didn't fly away we were soaked from head to toe in mud up to our knees because the house we were going to doesn't have a road you have to cross their rice field and because of the rain it was just one big lake of water and mud haha we slipped a few times so you can imagine what we looked like...Caves at heap reunion mom ;) hah the ward missionary was crying and my companion was just scared I think...ha she kept screaming all I could do was like Elder Wirthlins advice and laugh. It was a very memorable experience and one of many to come I'm sure, with the whole typhoon season comin and all LOL.

So I didn't get transferred!! YEAH and neither did my comp! so this will be her last area and I'll be her last comp...poor girl..haha I'll call on Sunday night Probably sometime between 7-9pm Just be at home I'll call from here at like 8am on Monday so it should be sun night there. I'll call and give you the number and then you can call me back. Just have a list of ?s mom and I'll answer them all. I love you all so much and I can't wait to talk to you next week I'm so excited!! I can talk for 30-45 min so be ready :) Hope all continues to go well LALU!!!!

Always,
Brooklyn
